Planning your marketing with the Planner
Add tasks, plan by month, week or day, and move things around as plans change.
What the Planner is for
The Planner is your diary for the marketing itself: tasks, events and milestones. Anything you give a date inside an Action appears here automatically, so you have one place that shows what is happening and when.
Add something
- 1Open Planner from the menu.
- 2Press Add and give it a name.
- 3Choose how exact the date is: a month, a week or a specific day.
- 4Pick a project if it belongs to one, then save.
When you only know roughly when
Set the date to a month or a week. These items sit in a tray above the calendar for that period, so they stay visible without pretending to be booked for a particular day.
Three ways to look at your plan
- 1Calendar: drag an item onto another date to move it.
- 2Board: drag items between Planned, This week, In progress and Done.
- 3List: everything in date order, handy for a quick review.
Posts versus everything else
The 365 days of prompts are for social posts. The Planner is for everything else. Press Add to planner on any prompt if you want it on a particular date.
Questions this answers
- Can I put an action in my calendar?
- Yes. Schedule an action with a date, time and duration, then add it to Google, Outlook or download an .ics file. If you reschedule inside IMVICA, remember to update the copy sitting in your own calendar.
- What is the Planner for?
- It is your working diary for the marketing itself. Add tasks, events and milestones, plan them by month, by week or on an exact date, and view everything as a calendar, a board or a list. Anything you schedule inside an Action appears here automatically, so you have one place that shows what is happening and when.
- How is the Planner different from the 365 days of post prompts?
- The 365 days tool is purely for social posts: a year of prompts you can draft against and keep in your content areas. The Planner is project management for everything else. They stay separate unless you choose to link them, and you can send any prompt to a chosen date with Add to planner.
- How do I move something to a different day or stage?
- Drag it. In the calendar you can drag an item onto another date, and on the board you can drag it between Planned, This week, In progress and Done. You can also open any item and change the date, the precision or the stage by hand.
- What if I only know roughly when I want to do something?
- Set the precision to month or week instead of an exact date. Loose items sit in a tray above the calendar for that period, so they stay visible without pretending to be booked for a particular day.
