Your first week with IMVICA
A calm, simple order to set things up so the drafts sound like you from day one.
How IMVICA is put together
You sit at the top. Under you sit your projects, one for each book, talk or launch. Under each project sit its actions, content, contacts and knowledge. Anything you save without choosing a project belongs to you as a whole.
Day one: your profile
- 1Open the account menu (your picture, top right) and choose Edit profile.
- 2Add your bio, headshot and what you are known for.
- 3Fill in your tone of voice and paste in a few examples of your own writing.
- 4If you have a book, say yes when asked and add its details. This creates your first project.
Day two: one small action
- 1Open Actions and look under Ready to action.
- 2Press Preview on anything that catches your eye to see what is inside.
- 3Choose one, press Add to my actions and work through it. Your answers save as you type.
Day three onwards: a gentle rhythm
Two or three sessions of around twenty minutes a week is plenty. Your Dashboard always suggests one focus action and a few quick wins, so you never have to decide where to begin.
Questions this answers
- What is IMVICA, in one paragraph?
- IMVICA brings together over 20 years of marketing experience, workshops, courses and tried-and-tested resources into one easy-to-use platform. Designed for authors and experts, it helps you plan and manage your marketing, create content, organise PR and podcast outreach, and keep everything in one place. With practical tips, templates, step-by-step guidance and AI-powered tools, IMVICA makes marketing simpler, helping you stay organised, take action and get your expertise out into the world.
- How is the platform structured?
- You sit at the top. Beneath you sit projects, one for each book, talk or launch. Beneath projects sit actions, content, contacts and knowledge. Anything you want to apply everywhere can stay brand wide instead of being tied to a single project.
- Do I need a book, and what if I have more than one?
- A book is optional. In Profile and settings you are simply asked whether you have a book to add, and the details form only opens if you say yes. If you have several, save the first one, then use Add another book, which creates a project for it with its own actions, planner items and media pack.
- Am I a project too?
- You are the level above every project, so you do not need one for yourself. Anything saved without a project chosen belongs to you as a whole and travels with you across the platform, which is how you can run a plan purely for your own profile alongside a launch.
- Where should I begin?
- Work through the Start here checklist. Profile first, then one project, then a single small action. Fifteen focused minutes on your first day is more useful than an afternoon of setting things up.
- How much time does this take each week?
- Most members get real value from two or three sessions a week of twenty minutes. The dashboard always offers one focus action and a set of quick wins so you never have to decide where to start.
